Vocalocity Review
Vocalocity is a small business VoIP company that provides hosted PBX services. Vocalocity, based in Atlanta, Georgia, was founded in 2003 and is one the top five virtual PBX providers in the market. Vocalocity specializes in micro enterprise companies that typically consist of fewer than 20 employees.
Standard Features
The following features are included with their Voice Plans:
• Unlimited Calling: On Unlimited and Virtual Extension Plans
• Local Number Portability (LNP): Keep an existing phone number by porting it from your current provider.
• Web Portal Interface: Administrators and users configure and manage their own services thru a Web interface.
• Directory Assistance (411)
• Emergency Service (911)
Vocalocity plans also include standard caller features such as; caller ID, call waiting, call hold, call transfer, three-way calling, call logs and caller ID block.
Vocalocity voicemail features include; password protected voicemail, greeting options, voicemail to .wav file email attachment, remote access, multiple mail folders and IP phone message light indicator.
Vocalocity inbox features include; voice, fax, email unified inbox, all message types supported and deleted item recovery.
Vocalocity Virtual Receptionist features include; automatic customized time of day and day of week greetings, dial-by-name directory, virtual department set up, multiple virtual receptionists and import greetings.
The company also provides a number of add-on features that allows customers to purchase only the enhanced services that they need. These include local, geographic, or toll free numbers to establish a customer presence in a particular area; fax service, call groups, voicemail transcription, conference bridge service and call queuing. These additional services range in price from $4.99 to 39.99 per month.
Vocalocity Plans
The Unlimited Extension Plan provides flat rate unlimited inbound and outbound calling in the US and Canada and anywhere within the Vocalocity network for a single unique extension. Cost is $39.99 per month plus one company number at $9.99.
The Metered Extension Plan is designed for extensions that are not used as frequently (less than 30 minutes per day) or that are used primarily for internal calls. Cost is $14.99 per month plus $0.03 per minute.
The Virtual Extension Plan is designed for employees who don’t need an office phone. With the Virtual Extension Plan employees can connect to the business phone through their cell phones. Cost is $14.99 per month and includes; voicemail, direct dial phone number, Virtual Extension forwarding to another VoIP number, landline or answering service.
Of note: The company’s service plans have no contracts or cancellation fees, as their philosophy is that customers should continue to use the service because they are happy with it, not because they are obligated by a contractual agreement.
