Voice over IP FAQ

Question:

Can I use VoIP with a dial-up Internet service?

No.  The modems used for dial-up Internet are not capable of the bandwidth required by VoIP.  You need to have a Business Class Internet account using DSL or a cable modem in order for VoIP to work consistently well.

Answer:

No.  Service providers often include an adapter with basic packages that allows you to use your touchtone phone with their service.

Question:

How expensive is VoIP?

Price depends on the level of service you’re looking for.  The lowest cost we’ve seen is around $10.00 a month, which is appropriate for a single user.  Business plans will cost around $25.00-$30.00 per line on average.  Every VoIP Service Provider is different and so are the pricing structures they offer.
